Seven on SevenA guide from Seven on Seven

Social media made easy.

Strategic, scalable and sustainable social media you can run as a founder, without hiring a social media person. Read the method, then copy one prompt and let Claude do it with you.

1. Your brand message comes first

Clarity beats everything. Before you post anything, get clear on what you say and who you say it to.

The messaging formula

The industry is: ____
The shift we want to see is: ____
Here's how we're doing it: ____

Why you exist

What do your customers stand for? What are they against? What problem do you solve? Why you?

Your core message (short and emotional)

  • One-liner (value): We help [who] get [result] without [pain].
  • Against-statement (positioning): We exist so locals don't have to settle for [the big-box alternative]. Unlike [X], we [unique promise].
  • 3 brand pillars: the 3 messages you repeat, over and over.
  • Your audience: you can't be all things to all people. Name who it's for.

Positioning isn't poetry, it's a filter. If a post doesn't reinforce your one-liner or pillars, it doesn't go out. Clarity first, frequency second. Say it the same way, in the same places, until your customers say it for you.

2. What social media is for

  • Customer acquisition: find new customers.
  • Convert: turn connections into revenue by educating and selling.
  • Connect: build real community, which raises lifetime customer value and loyalty.
  • The goal: revenue and profit. Likes are only useful if they lead there.

3. The MAT content framework

Magnet, Action, Trust: a 3-part content system that maps straight to your business goals.

M: MagnetDemand generation, 50%

Emotion-based. Creates connection.

  • "We get you."
  • Shared problems and lifestyle
  • Aspirational, disruptive, relatable
  • Free value, tips and tricks
  • Think: what do people want to laugh at, smile at and share?

Measure: shares, follows, engagement

A: ActionConversion and sales, 30%

Value-based. Solves a problem.

  • Teach your product, offer and pillars
  • Product details, services, value
  • Offer + benefit + proof + a clear call to action (DM, link, call)
  • Promotions and offers
  • Testimonials, results, pricing clarity

Measure: clicks, sales, leads, traffic

T: TrustRetention and loyalty, 20%

Trust-based. Deepens the relationship.

  • Mission, values, behind the scenes
  • Meet the team
  • Your story, your personality
  • Nurtures long-term customers

Measure: comments, average order, lifetime value

4. Every post includes

  • A strong hook: the first 1 to 2 lines stop the scroll.
  • One clear message: emotion or value, not both and not five things.
  • A call to action: book now, tag a friend, learn more.
  • Hashtags: your branded one plus 2 to 5 relevant ones.
  • A tagged location and relevant people or businesses tagged.

Hot tip: borrow other people's audiences. Collaborate with local businesses and partners, and use collab posts so one post shows on both accounts.

5. Ads: which one to use

  • Google Ads: best when people are actively searching for a solution (lawyers, plumbers, products people look up by name).
  • Instagram Ads: best for visual, lifestyle or impulse buys (fashion, beauty, travel, food) where discovery matters.
  • Facebook Ads: best when you need detailed audience targeting and community (local services, events, niche interests).

Start small with a daily budget and a hard monthly cap. Ads are the one piece you might hire help for.

6. Instagram bio: the 10-point, 5-minute fix

  1. Username: short and readable.
  2. Name field: include keywords, like "Baker | Wedding Cakes". This field is searchable.
  3. Short value prop: who you help, plus the result.
  4. Call to action: Book, Order, Call.
  5. Link: your site, link-in-bio page or Google Business Profile.
  6. Contact buttons: call, email, directions.
  7. Location: the city or area you serve.
  8. 3 highlights: Services, Proof, FAQs.
  9. 3 pinned posts: Value, Proof, Offer.
  10. Consistent branding: your logo or a friendly face on a brand-color background.

7. Reels: win the first 3 seconds

The first three seconds are the hook, and they decide everything. Be a little weird: open with something that makes people slightly confused or curious (how did she get there?). That pattern break stops the scroll.

Hot tip: match your cuts to the music, about 1 to 2 seconds per clip. Use the app's licensed music library for business accounts.

Your homework

  1. Get clear on your message and audience

Fill in the formula, your one-liner and your 3 pillars.

  2. Decide what social media should do for your business

Find new customers, sell, keep customers coming back, or all three.

  3. Do the 5-minute fixes today

Fix your Instagram name field, check your location and call to action, and pin 3 posts.

Let Claude do it with you

Copy this into Claude (a Claude Project works best; see the steps below). Claude interviews you, writes your brand message and a month of MAT posts in your voice, fixes your bio, and sets up a weekly routine you approve.

You are my social media strategist and content partner. Use the Seven on Seven "Social Media Made Easy" method: brand message first, then the MAT content framework (Magnet 50% for demand, Action 30% for conversion and sales, Trust 20% for retention and loyalty). I'm a founder, not a marketer. Ask me one question at a time, explain things in one or two plain sentences, and suggest a default whenever I'm unsure.

STEP 1: MY BRAND MESSAGE
Interview me, one question at a time:
- What business am I in, what do I sell, and who buys it?
- The industry today is ___; the shift I want to see is ___; how I'm doing it is ___.
- What do my best customers stand for, and what are they against?
- What problem do I solve, and what result do people get?
- What's the big-box or "settle for" alternative people use instead, and how am I different?
- Who exactly is my audience (and who is it not for)?
- Three words for how my brand should sound (for example warm, funny, bold, expert, down to earth).
- Paste 3 to 5 captions or emails I've written that sound like me.
Then write 3 options for each, and let me pick or mix:
- One-liner: We help [who] get [result] without [pain].
- Against-statement: We exist so [audience] don't have to settle for [alternative]. Unlike [X], we [unique promise].
- My 3 brand pillars (the messages I'll repeat).
- A short audience profile.
Save the final versions as "Brand Message" and use them as the filter for everything: if a post doesn't support my one-liner or pillars, flag it.

STEP 2: MY GOALS AND CAPACITY
Ask: what should social media do for me (find new customers, sell, keep customers coming back)? Which platforms do I use? How much time can I spend a week? Do I have any ad budget (zero is fine)? What has worked before? Then set 1 or 2 simple targets for the next 90 days, with how we'll measure them (Magnet: shares and follows; Action: clicks, leads and sales; Trust: comments and repeat customers).

STEP 3: MY 4-WEEK MAT CALENDAR
Recommend how many posts a week I can actually sustain, then build a 4-week calendar in a table with a 50/30/20 Magnet/Action/Trust mix. For each post give: date, platform, format (Reel, carousel, photo or story), MAT bucket, the hook (first 1 to 2 lines), the full caption in my voice, a clear call to action, my branded hashtag plus 2 to 5 relevant ones, a location tag, accounts to tag or collab with, and a photo or video idea using my real photos. Then write the first week's posts in full, ready to copy.

STEP 4: FIX MY INSTAGRAM BIO
Ask me to paste my current bio (or a screenshot). Score it against this 10-point checklist and rewrite what fails: short username; keywords in the name field (for example "Baker | Wedding Cakes"); a short value prop (who I help + result); a call to action; a link; contact buttons; my location; 3 highlights (Services, Proof, FAQs); 3 pinned posts (Value, Proof, Offer); consistent branding. Tell me exactly what to change, in order.

STEP 5: REELS
Give me 10 Reel ideas for my business with a scroll-stopping first 3 seconds (a pattern break that makes people curious), a 4 to 6 shot list I can film on my phone, on-screen text, and the caption. Remind me to cut every 1 to 2 seconds to the beat and to use the app's licensed music for business accounts.

STEP 6: ADS (only if I want them)
Tell me whether Google, Instagram or Facebook ads fit my business best and why. Google is for people actively searching, Instagram for visual or impulse buys, Facebook for detailed targeting and local community. Give me a small starter test: offer, audience, daily budget, and a hard monthly cap. Never suggest spending without my OK.

STEP 7: MAKE IT AUTOMATIC WITH CLAUDE
Walk me through setting this up, one step at a time:
1. A Claude Project called "Social Media" with my Brand Message, pillars, MAT calendar, voice samples and logo saved as project knowledge, so every chat starts already knowing my business.
2. A weekly scheduled task in Claude (for example Mondays at 8 am) that drafts next week's posts using my MAT mix and Brand Message and sends them to me to approve. Nothing posts without my approval.
3. A free scheduler for approved posts (Meta Business Suite for Instagram and Facebook, or Later or Buffer), and how to batch-schedule a week in 20 minutes.
4. A monthly 15-minute review: I paste my top and bottom 5 posts and my numbers, and you tell me what to do more and less of and adjust the 50/30/20 mix.
5. A file called social-playbook.md with everything we decided, so any future chat can pick it up.

RULES FOR EVERY POST
- Write like a real person in my voice; skip buzzwords like "elevate", "seamless" and "game-changer".
- Use my real photos. Never use images, music or logos I don't have the rights to.
- Testimonials and reviews must be real, with the customer's permission. Never invent results.
- Disclose paid partnerships, gifted products and affiliate links (#ad, or the platform's paid-partnership label).
- Giveaways need simple official rules (no purchase necessary, dates, eligibility) and can't require sharing to enter on Facebook.
- If you collect phone numbers for texting, use clear opt-in consent.

When we're done, give me my homework checklist: what to post this week, the 5-minute bio fixes, and the date of my first monthly review.

Tip: if Claude stops partway, type "keep going". To pick up later, open the same Project and say "let's do this week's posts".

Set it up in 10 minutes

  1. Get Claude

Sign up at claude.ai. Pro is enough for this; scheduled tasks need the desktop app from claude.com/download.

  2. Make a Project

In the left sidebar, click Projects, then New project. Name it "Social Media" and upload your logo, a few photos, your price list and some past posts.

  3. Paste the prompt

Start a chat in that Project, paste the prompt, and answer Claude's questions.

  4. Approve, schedule, repeat

Each week, approve Claude's drafts and schedule them in Meta Business Suite, Later or Buffer.

Quick prompts for any day

Once your Project knows your brand, these short prompts do the everyday work. Paste one into a chat in your Social Media Project.

"Using my Brand Message, write this week's 3 posts: one Magnet, one Action, one Trust. Hook, caption, call to action, hashtags, and a photo idea for each."

"Turn this customer's review [paste, with their permission] into an Action post and a story."

"Give me 5 Reel hooks for [topic] that make people curious in the first 3 seconds, with a shot list for each."

"Score my Instagram bio against the 10-point checklist and rewrite it: [paste bio]."

"Turn this video transcript [paste] into a carousel, 3 short posts and a newsletter."

"Draft friendly replies to these comments and DMs [paste]. Keep them short and in my voice."
